Epiphyllum Orchid Cactus Seed Germination & Growing Guide

Before sowing soak Epiphyllum seeds in warm water for 2 – 3 hours to rehydrate them a little whilst you prepare your growing medium.

*Sterile Soil Mix -  50/50 mix
Seed starting compost and coarse sand.
or
Cactus Compost / Sand
or
Regular Potting Soil

*A Sterile mix can be achieved by pouring boiling water onto your medium and allowing it to drain and cool down. Repeat if required.

For best results sow your seeds in the top layers or on the surface of your growing medium in your propagator or in seed trays with bottom heat to achieve humidity for successful germination.

DO NOT BURY THE SEED OR IT MAY NOT GERMINATE

When sowing seeds, strong light promotes germination where germination should happen in three to five weeks.

When your seedling has its second true leaf begin to acclimatise it by gradually reducing humidity and when established carefully pot on into larger containers
