This rare climber is an evergreen from the woodlands of Central to South America that like all Bomarea has wonderful glossy foliage and very ornate bright coloured trumpet shaped flowers with Salsilla being red - pink in colour with a smokey black centre. Very highly sort after all over the world by a combination of collectors and flowering plant enthusiasts due to the HUGE amount of flowers produced from early on in the plants life.
Very easy to grow from seed as long as seeds are fresh which these are. Grow in rich well draining soil in a sunny to semi shaded spot and water well in the warmer months and keep slightly moist to dry in the colder months. Germination can be erratic with some seeds taking several weeks where as others planted at the same time can take more than 3 months but they are well worth the effort Growing advice provided on the website.
