These Puya seeds are from the graceful P. Chilensis which is another wonderful variety of the pineapple family that produces a large rosette or pale green leaves which look fantastic. Each spring from the plant sends up a beautiful green flower spike adorned with hundreds of pale greeny yellow 8 cm waxy blooms which are truly a thing of beauty. This is another hardy variety that can handle brief frosts of around -5 degrees C but we recommend either some form of protection if growing in the ground in your garden or growing in a container so it can be over wintered with ease. Loves full sun to semi-partial shade and requires watering when the soil is two / thirds dry. Use a fast draining sandy mix for planting similar to that of Cactus and never let the soil become completley dry. We provide full growing instructions on the website.
