Our Nerium Oleander seeds are very fresh so germinate readily with no special pre treatments. Prepare a mix of peat and sand or some other well draining mixture (we use cactus compost mixed with extra peat moss). Surface sow and gently firm down (similar to that of Adenium germination) using a seed starting tray or propagator and covering the seeds very lightly or not at all and lightly water in. When the mix becomes / looks dry you should spray with clean fresh water using a mist bottle. Requires light to germinate so can be placed under grow lights or other fluorescent light to kick start germination. Keep warm and moist but not too wet, again similar to Adenium Seeds. Optimum germination temperature we have found is: 20 °C (68 °F). Once your seedlings are big enough and have their second set of true leaves they can be transplanted to individual pots. Fertilizing is often done during the spring when your plants are starting to grow. You may want to start with a basic organic fertilizer that has a 10-10-10 or 15-15-15 ratio. Although uncommon, germination can take up to 90 days although most will germinate within 1 month so please be patient. *All parts of Nerium Oleander are poisonous if ingested.
