Bomarea and Climbers

Bomarea are very rare climbing plants that are a member of the Alstromeriaceae family found mainly in South America where they grow through forest canopies.

Bomarea have lush green foliage that produce magnificent floral displays within there second growing season when grown from seed.

They can be trained onto trellises or other climbing plant supports with ease both indoors, in a greenhouse, conservatory or as is the case with some varieties even outside.

Every cluster produced as many as 25 to 45 flowers at a time and there are normally dozens of clusters that bloom in Spring and then last right through to late summer.

It is quite possible that we have the only internet source of many of these varieties anywhere in Europe and possibly further afield so this shows they are rather special and very sort after.
