The 'Grassy Puya' or 'Electric Puya' as it is commonly known is a delicate looking but very impressive specimen plant that grows very easily from seed and almost always flowers well within the first growing season. This member of the Bromeliad family can be found in the mountians of Bolivia and produces eye catching silvery foliage which curves and wisps into an angelic looking rosette. In late spring and early summer it produces tall 3 ft stalks that are awash with electric silver-green flowers which last for the majority of the year. As with all our Puya they love full sun to semi-partial shade, very sandy soil and a minimum amount of water and is totally hardy down to 20 degrees. Makes for a perfect low maintanance pot plant that you can put out in the sun and then bring in away from the frosts of winter.
