This is another rare member of the pineapple family native to South America, mainly Argentina known commonly as 'Flamingo Puya'. It has gracious & upright grass like foliage arranged in rosettes and in the spring it produces tall flowering spikes. At the begining of the flowering season the flowers bracts are a salmon pink colour with neon blue flowers and bright orange stamens but as the spring and summer months pass the flowers transform gradually and turn to a dark vivid red making for a superb display like you have never seen before or are likely to see at your local garden centre. Grows to around 3 ft tall and is drought tolerant once established so is perfect for container growing. Loves full sun but will need over wintering so to see your plant at it's best keep away from frost. Seeds are freshly harvested and are easy to grow. Full germination advice is provided.
