Native only to the highlands of Chile this beautiful Puya is an ornamental that deserves a place in any home or warm climate garden and makes for an ideal container plant that will be admired all year long. Produces lucious architectural and compact rosettes of silver - white foliage followed in early spring and right through the summer months by a floral display that will leave anyone that sees it ensnared by its beauty. Deep purple blooms emerge from huge red pine-cone clusters aloft bold red and upright stems measuring 40 inches in length. These Puya seeds are easy to germinate albeit erratic in there timings but anyone can grow them without to much difficulty and they are well worth the effort for the foliage alone, with the flowers being the cherry on the cake.
